raising a child
The work begins after recognizing the stressors. Many systems are designed of how average students learn. But there is no average student. Every child has a unique learning need and when a family doesn’t recognise this variability, it locks many students out of opportunity to build knowledge.
When children themselves learn to focus on effort and strategies, they can start feeling responsible for positive outcomes, and responsible for their own successes in school and in life.
For your child to improve his academic performance is for him to believe that he can do it. Similarly, you must believe in your child by showing your full faith in him and total support for his efforts to improve.
Often the best way to encourage kids to persevere at difficult times is through their connections to people matter to them

Support by Smart Consultation
Children with learning challenges often need extra attention to overcome their most pressing learning issues. When the teacher provides individually prescribed instruction (IPI), it significantly helps many learners to understand and grasp educational concepts.
Smart consultation gives individual learning support and focuses on the individual learner’s needs. It helps consolidate learning, or extend academic performance, in individual areas, and/or consult and clear doubts to help fill the gaps in learning. This class is flexible and tailored to their needs.
Study coach focuses on the "process" of school, while tutoring helps students with "content".

Lack of study skills become most apparent during these times, as there is a jump in workload and school expectations. You can have a student who is doing very well and then all of a sudden, they are showing signs of stress because school expectations have outpaced student readiness and skills.
Choose our StudySmart Workshop
StudySmart is a collaboration with The Learning Scientists to give your child a scientific proven method to maximize time and effort by setting up powerful approaches. Step by step, you will learn how to apply the best study strategies and receive support to create a system i.e. notes taking, scheduling, organization and time management and develop all other skills to the specific challenges s/he faces! Your child will learn more about him/herself over time after the academic coaching sessions. H/she will become better at independent thinking and adopt new ways to meet their goals.
What is a Study Coach?
As a parent, it is important to help your child by designing feasible and achievable targets in their learning by equipping them with study skills that are tailored to their personal needs and styles. Change can often seem like an impossible task, but with a study coach attached to the family, using the same tool CBT employed by practitioners, we hope to provide family with a clear framework to manage recurrences of negative learning behaviour and to develop strong coping strategies.
